It's our first summer in San Diego since we got married and lived in Rexburg for the last couple of years. It's been humid and hot so we go to the pool at least once a week. Abbie loves to be in the pool. Abbie will try to jump in by herself so we have to watch her. She seems to not have any fear... just like her daddy.
I would love to go to the beach but Mike pretty much works right by the beach so he doesn't want to go but my goal is to take Abbie at least once. She loves the pool but she's never been to the beach. I know she's going to be amazed and excited. Mike, Abbie, and I had the opportunity to go to Boise for Jonny(Mike's little brother)and Karie's wedding. Abbie and I stayed there for a week after the wedding to visit with Mike's family and to scrapbook all week. I don't have time to scrapbook so it was a nice break and to be able to scrapbook.
We celebrated Abbie's first birthday. I can't believe how fast time really flies. Now she's walking and getting into everything. She says "daee" for daddy, "mama" for mommy, "ball", "ish" for fish, and " I'm also teaching her little bit of sign language. She signs "milk" "more" and "eat" to let me know what she wants. Recently she started grabbing her left arm with her right hand and I realized that she does it only when we have a prayer. Now I can tell her to fold her arms and she will grab her arm. IT made me realize how much she pays attention to what Mike and I do. Hopefully I can be a good example. I need to be careful with what I do and say.
Mike went to his first scuba diving with Bro. Larson from our ward last week. He dove once in the late afternoon and another at night. He told me all the cool things he saw in the ocean. I was pregnant when Mike got his scuba license so I haven't had time or money to go yet so hopefully I will get my license soon. I can't wait to go diving. Mike is planning to go diving again sometime soon. Lobster season starts in September so he's very excited to go diving for lobsters.
Mike and I went and saw Batman, The Dark Knight. We both really enjoyed it. It was one of the most exciting movie I have seen in a while. If you haven't seen it, it is definitely worth it. Well there's nothing exciting going on but I just love spending time with Mike and Abbie. They are the most important in my life.
