Happy New Year! (with so many updates)

I cannot believe we are in 2010 now. We've been very busy for the past month and have lots to update!

OUR FRONT YARD
We finally got sod in our front yard! We were supposed to get it during Thanksgiving time but we ended up getting it a couple of days before Christmas but I didn't care because we got it for free! We finished it on Christmas Eve, so instead of a "White Christmas", we had a "Green Christmas" this year! It took many hours to prepare our yard from looking like this: (sorry it's hard to tell but we had rocks all around the yard with bushes and dead lawn with lots of weeds)

What do you think? We love it! We can't wait for Spring time so we could be outside all the time. And hopefully the backyard will be done before that. I know we will be spending most of our time outside this year.

MIKE'S BIRTHDAY
We celebrated Mike's 30th birthday on the 20th. He said he hadn't thought about turning 30 because he's been too busy upkeeping the house and with his job. But he definitely knows he is getting old when he can't do stuff he was able to do when he was in his early 20s... I hope he was able to accomplish what he wanted to do before he turned 30. I'm so lucky to have a great husband! I love him so much! Here's picture of his birthday cake... well I should say a cookie with a candle. He didn't want a cake for his birthday. Instead he wanted peanut butter cookies so that's what I made. And there's carmel chocolate kisses in the middle. So yummy!

SEA WORLD
Before the season pass to Sea World expired at the end of the year, we wanted to go down together one more time as a family. It rained so it was almost empty, which we were able to enjoy it much more and be close to everything.

MEET SANTA
Abbie had a chance to see Santa Claus twice this year and she was so excited! We asked her what she wanted from Santa, she would only answer candies.

CHRISTMAS DAY
She finally told us that she wanted a tea set so Santa Claus brought her a tea set and she was so excited!
Here are pictures of Abbie opening presents: Abbie was very spoiled by her grandparents and her aunts and uncles this year.
We were able to spend Christmas night with my Willes family. We also had my grandma stay with us for Christmas this year for a week. She was confused most of the time but we managed through it and had a great time together. Abbie now has a princess table set she can sit and play with her tea set, and wear her cinderella and tinkerbell outfits. She likes to wear her outfits all the time and one time she wanted to wear both of them at the same time (the tinkerbell wings are upside down) She also got a tinkerbell motor ride bike (don't know what's called), and a drawing board that only shows up with water (so great! she can't draw anywhere else). Abbie had so much fun playing with her cousin, Ian on his new car.

VEGAS TRIP
We had a chance to go to Vegas and meet our old room mates, Michelle and Ben and their son little Ben, after Christmas for a couple of days. There were so many people and lots of cigaratte smoke (it made us all very sick with headaches)everywhere but we had a great time. We went to the temple before we met up with our friends: and here are pictures from Vegas trip:

CAKES
In the midst of all these, I managed to do two cakes for Mike's co-worker. She wanted a Christmas cake and a birthday cake for her son. I definetly need to practice more. (The gold came out orange/yellowish color and the silver came out purple-ish grey.) Can you tell the cake is a WWE belt??

We were able to spend a lot of time together as family during this holiday season.

Thanks for all the updates, you've definitely been busy! I must say those cakes are pretty impressive as well. By the looks of things, if Bailee and Abbie lived closer they would for sure be best princess friends. ;)
