We also finally have a backyard! The grass is growing and the garden is looking great everyday. I love fresh vegetables!
I got my 3rd calling since we've moved up here a year ago. When we first moved into our ward, I was called to be a Compassionate Service leader, than to a Relief Society Meeting leader (Enrichment leader), and now I'm a second counselor in YW. I'm really excited to start working with the youth in the ward (I've heard only good things about them!). I'm little nervous but can't wait! It's going to be fun!
Abbie started swimming lessons on the 1st and she is loving it! We put her in with the preschool class and she's the shortest and the youngest in her class. There are only five kids (which three of them are Abbie's friends) so her instructor works with each of them one at a time. We are just proud of her! She loves to be in the water and pretty good at swimming. We have no doubt she's going to be a great swimmer. (Mike is hoping that she'll compete like he used to.) When she's done with her class she cries almost everyday that she doesn't want to get out and be done. She has mastered all the skills needed to move up so starting in two weeks, she'll be with the 4-6 year olds. I'm little worried but I'm sure that's just me. Abbie always do great.
And I can't forget to mention about my sister, Melissa! She's my youngest sister. We are fifteen years apart so she's closer to Abbie but I still love her! She was in a school play, Aladdin, so we took a trip to San Diego for a weekend in May, which we always love! Sometimes I wish we were still in San Diego but I'm getting used to our area and having lots of fun with the friends I've made. Mike and I were able to go out on Friday night to the Fish Market and had the best fresh fish and calamary for dinner. It was so good! It was a mother's day gift from Mike. We left Abbie with my family and she played Barbie with my dad. Mike broke his toes trying to balance on an exercising ball (the big one) trying to make $5... He fell and broke his toe nail and four of his toes (except a pinky toe) He said it wasn't worth it and he won't do it again. He laughs about it. Boys will always be boys.
On Saturday morning, Mike and I went to the temple. (one side of the temple was covered up due to fixing up with leaks, cracks, etc... but it was still peaceful.) There's nothing like the feeling you get when you are in the temple.
Abbie stayed with my mom and my sisters and she got to help prepare for the play. She asked where her Jasmin cosutme was. Apparently she wanted to wear one and be in the play with Missy. Not surprised. She loves to dance and sing.
We all went to see Melissa's play on Saturday night. We all enjoyed it. I can't believe my baby sister is growing up so fast.
My sister, Alicia, bought my nephew, Ian, and Abbie kites so we took it up to a park to test it out. The kids had so much fun! They also played at the park after. I wish we had parks like in San Diego here in our area...
We took Abbie to the San Bernadino County Fair... well we weren't impressed at all but Abbie sure enjoyed it.

Nice update!! That's so awesome you got to work on your house! Wish my husband knew how to do stuff like that! :)
I want my kids to take swimming lessons too! It's so nice to be able to swim especially when they get older.
Congrats on your new calling! I'm in the YW too! I love my girls and it's the best calling! (very demanding but worth it!) Are you over the Miamaids? good luck with everything!
We put tile in our kitchen and it took 2 days. It was hard work!! Hallie learned how to swim when she was 3..she is a really good swimmer, Owen on the other hand is terrified of the water. Chad and I both swam in high school so I think we're both hoping Hallie will swim..it's such a fun sport. I have a sister that's closer to Hallie in age then me as well, they have so much fun together! Glad you updated! Hope you are all doing well!!
YW sounds so fun! The girls are going to love you. I would love to see your tile. When we buy a house, my mom is going to fly out here and do all of our tile. I kind of know how to do it, but she loves it and is so much better at it than I would be. I can't wait to see you next month!
How fun!! That is so awesome Abbie is doing swim lessons :) I want Clara to do those when she gets a bit older. But its not as fun here because we never get sun :( Anyway, you guys look like you have so much fun down there...I would love to visit SD area sometime this year or next...! Hope your doing well girly- thanks for sharing!
