Bye-bye binky!

When Abbie bit her Binky and made holes, she put her fingers through it and pulled it apart. I took the opportunity and told her it's broken. She played with it and try to put it in her mouth but didn't like it. I told her that she needs to give it a kiss and say good-bye. She did exactly what I told her and when I opened the trash can, she threw it in all by herself. She didn't ask for her binky for the rest of the day until it was her bed time. We reassured her that she told it bye-bye and threw it away. She remembered and had a sad look on her face. She cried when we put her bed for the first couple of nights but she got used to it and doing just fine without it. She doesn't even ask for her binky anymore. I almost gave in since she got up two, three times during the night but it only lasted for two nights. I'm glad I didn't give in. I thought it was going to be harder but it went better than I expected. We are just so excited to get rid of her pacifier. I had to take a picture of her last binky. (It's the pink one. It might be hard to see it.)

yay! No more binky! I think that what happened was so easy! I am not there yet, but I have heard nightmare stories of trying to get rid of binky. In fact, my sis in law has a hard time with their little one and his binky. So good job!!:)

I hope all is well:)

Ohmigosh! I just did this too, this past weekend! Same thing happened with Owen! But then he got sick, what a horrible time to pick to get rid of it! I didn't give in though. He doesn't ask for it anymore either!

That is so great! I really wasn't sure if I was ready to have the girls get rid of their binkys , especially with just having Autumn, but your post inspired me and so I had them throw all their binkys away! Cloey had a hard time, but like you said a couple of days and she was fine!
