My new hobby

I have wanted to make fun and cute cakes especially after watching Ace of Cakes. This summer, I started taking cake decorating class to learn new skills and it’s been really fun. Now I’m in fondant class learning how to layout the fondant and making different flowers. Here’s my first fondant cake I made last week:

Abbie's been asking to eat it... waiting in from the cake.

There's chocolate pudding in the middle. It's so yummy! We have to keep in the fridge so it doesn't go bad early.

I have made several different cakes with buttercream and royal icing but we didn't have a camera then so I took it with my cell phone. I just have to figure out how to load it up on the computer... anyway, it's so much fun to be able to make it myself instead of having to pay for one. By the end of this month, I'm going to make stacked tiered cake for my final project. I will be doing something like these:

I can't wait! Now I just have to choose what I want to do for the flowers. It's going to be so much fun. I will have to take pictures and post it after I'm done. I'm going to make Transformers fondant stacked cake for my nephew's birthday party, too. I hope it's going to turn out well. Mike's birthday coming up at the end of the year too. I'm so excited!
I'm so blessed to have a great husband, who supports me for the things I want to do and to help me get some time for myself (I love Abbie and stay home with her but I do need a break once in a while).
Someday I want to make cakes like Duff and his friends. They are so talented.

You are so talented in everything you do. I can't believe it! By the way, my co-workers think you are hot, but they don't believe me that you are half Japanese. Silly boys. I can't wait to see you in December!

SO exciting! I'm jealous! I took the first wilton class when we were living in Cookeville, and I LOVED IT! I went and signed up for the second class, but I was the only one that did so they cancelled the class.I was so disappointed. One day I will take the other classes. I love your cake by the way!
